Finance Minister, Prof. Edward Scicluna, received a courtesy visit by the Minister of Public Administration of Trinidad and Tobago, Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan. The two ministers discussed issues of common interest including the role of energy, tourism, foreign investment, diversification and sustainable development in the economic growth of island nations.
Minister Scicluna was accompanied by Commissioner for Revenue, Marvin Gaerty.
Minister Seepersad-Bachan is heading a delegation from her country that has traveled to Malta to hol
d discussions with the Inland Revenue Department on Malta’s success in e-government and to be informed about best practices in the field. Trinidad and Tobago are currently in the process of introducing such a system.

Il-Ministru tal-Finanzi, il-Prof. Edward Scicluna, kellu żjara mill-Ministru tal-Amministrazzjoni Pubblika ta’ Trinidad u Tobago, Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan. Iż-żewġ ministri tkellmu dwar kwistjonijiet ta’ interess komuni bħall-irwol tal-enerġija, tat-turiżmu, tal-investiment barrani, tad-diversifikazzjoni, u tal-iżvilupp sostenibbli fit-tkabbir ekonomiku tal-gżejjer nazzjon.
Il-Ministru kien akkumpanjat mill-Kummissarju tat-Taxxi, Marvin Gaerty.
Il-Ministru Seepersad-Bachan tinsab Malta flimkien ma’ delegazzjoni minn pajjiżha għal taħditiet mad-Dipartiment tat-Taxxi Interni dwar kif Malta rnexxielha tħaddem b’tant suċċess is-sistema tal-amministrazzjoni elettronika (e-government) u biex jiġu mgħarrfin dwar l-aħjar prattiċi f’dan il-qasam. Trinidad u Tobago bħalissa qegħdin fil-proċess li jintroduċu din is-sistema.
