He viewed the CHOGM and the Commonwealth Business Forum as a platform for businesses, entrepreneurs and senior members of government to come together to explore new opportunities and markets, share and expand contacts, and ease networking with potential business partners. Minister Scicluna expressed his firm belief that Malta was an ideal host for facilitating such business relationships.

The pre-CHOGM engagement was followed by an address to finance professionals, financial services practitioners and potential international investors who were attending a conference organised by the Malta Stock Exchange in a bid to raise awareness of the opportunities it offers. Scicluna charted the development of Malta’s financial services industry, underlying how this was also brought about by having in place sound and well regulated bodies such as the MSE, which is this year celebrating its 25th anniversary.
