Labour MEP Professor Edward Scicluna addressed another public meeting ‘Ejja u Staqsi’ this time in Lija. He talked about the European Commission reply to his latest parliamentary question regarding the absorption of EU funds by Malta. Prof Scicluna explained how Malta had up to now used 198 million euro out of a total of 840 million. He added that if these funds are not used by 2015 they would be lost. He also answered questions made by those present about pensions, the Auditor General report and the political situation in Malta.
L-Ewroparlamentari Laburista il-Professur Edward Scicluna żamm l-appuntament tiegħu mal-kostitwenti b’laqgħa pubblika oħra ‘Ejja u Staqsi’ f’Ħal Lija. Huwa tkellem dwar ir-risposta tal-Kummissjoni Ewropea għall-mistoqsija parlamentari li għamel dwar l-użu tal-fondi Ewropej minn Malta. Spjega kif Malta minn total ta’ 840 miljun ewro f’fondi sa issa kienet għadha nefqet biss 198 miljun u kif jekk dawn il-flus ma jintefqux sal-2015 dawn kienu ser jintilfu. Il-Prof Scicluna wieġeb ukoll numru ta’ mistoqsijiet li sarulu mill-membri tal-udjenza fosthom dwar il-pensjonijiet, ir-rapport tal-Awditur Ġenerali u l-qagħda politika f’Malta.
