During the last European Union summit which was held in Brussels in June one of the most important topics discussed was the proposal of setting up a Banking Union for the Euro Zone countries. The proposal is currently being studied by the Committee for the Economic and Monetary Affairs of the European Parliament and by the Council of Ministers. This proposal is discussed during this MEP u INT programme by Labour MEP Professor Edward Scicluna.

Fl-aħħar summit tal-Unjoni Ewropea li sar f’Ġunju fi Brussel spikkat ħafna l-proposta biex tiġi mwaqqfa dik li qed tissejjaħ Unjoni Bankarja bejn il-pajjiżi membri taż-Żona Ewro. Din hija biss proposta fuq il-karta u matul il-btajjel tas-sajf isir iktar studju u xogħol fuqha biex imbagħad f’Settembru l-Parlament Ewropew iressaq il-pjan tiegħu u l-Kunsill joħroġ bil-proposti tiegħu u jaraw jaqblux.
