The Network for Enhanced Electoral and Democratic Support (NEEDS) is running a project in Brussels for Press Officers on elections’ press coverages. Labour MEP Edward Scicluna was guest speaker for one of the project’s lectures.

Prof. Scicluna’s led a 120-strong EU Observation Mission for the Presidential and Parliamentary Elections held in Uganda last February 18.

NEEDS is a project funded by the European Commission, designed to enhance the quality and capacity of European Union Election Observation Missions and support domestic observer organizations around the world. By providing guidelines and training opportunities for observers, NEEDS seeks to contribute to the overall goals of election observation, which are to promote democracy, human rights and the rule of law worldwide.
