Minister for Finance and Financial Services Edward Scicluna met with the President and Council Members of the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry at the Chamber’s premises in Valletta.
Minister Scicluna stated that the government and the business community both share common goals and visions, that of maintaining Malta’s continued economic growth and improving the wellbeing of the population.

Minister Scicluna highlighted the main challenges which the country is facing, namely governance issues, international developments in corporate taxation, and issues related to the maintainance of a level playing field for all local operators, whether this concerns public procurement or imports from the mainland via the Sicily-Malta ferry service.

David Xuereb, the Chamber’s President, said that the Chamber has tasked 28 CEOs of top business organizations operating from Malta to formulate the Economic Vision 2020-2025 for the Maltese islands. This document will be launched in the coming weeks.
Minister Scicluna was accompanied by Dr Paul Debattista, Chief of Staff at the Ministry for Finance and Financial Services.
