Minister for Finance, Prof. Edward Scicluna welcomed a delegation of the German Banking Association at the Ministry for Finance. During the meeting, Minister Scicluna expounded on the agenda for the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union, especially in relation to banking and financial markets.

The German delegation included member of the Senior Management Board Mr Christian Ossig, Managing Director of the Economic Policy and International Affairs Department Siegfried Utzig, Head of the association’s Brussels Liaison Office, Kolja Gabriel, and Advisor responsible for European Financial Market topics Ina Brüggemann.

Minister Scicluna was accompanied by Governor of the Central Bank of Malta Governor Dr. Mario Vella, Chairman of the Malta Financial Services Authority Prof. Joe Bannister, Permanent Secretary Ministry for Finance Mr. Alfred Camilleri, Chief of Staff to the Minister Ms Tania Brown, and Head – EU Presidency Unit Mr. Matthew Buttigieg.
