PRESS STATEMENT BY THE MINISTRY FOR FINANCE
He noted that the accountancy profession represents the bread and butter of the business sector and provides career openings into various other sectors and fields. He said that while accountants and auditors can advance in their field, they also have the option to take up policy-making positions within the public sector or management roles within the private sector.
Minister Scicluna also noted that while the private sector is as important as the public sector, the public sector is often more complex as it requires the implementation of government policy and its strategic direction across multiple levels.
The ceremony was presided over by the Minister for Finance, Prof. Edward Scicluna and Accountancy Board Chairman, Charles Rapa, and Board Secretary, Martin Spiteri.
A total of 102 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) warrants and Practising Certificates in Auditing (PCA) were handed out during the ceremony. 54 Accountants received the CPA warrant, 41 received both the CPA warrant and the Practising Certificate in Auditing, while a further seven received the Practising Certificate in Auditing.
